Sclerotherapy is a safe and well established treatment for thread veins on the legs. Although there are a number of alternative treatments, it remains the most reliable succesfu lof them all.
A solution is injected with a tiny needle, very superficially into the vein, causing the lining of the vein to swell and become sticky. a compression garment is then applied to close the veins. over time the vein will heal closed and fade away.
The drug used is called sclerovein, it is used widely in Uk Europe and USA.
Finally the results achieved after 1 treatment vary considerably from client to client. it can take up to 4 treatments in some cases. treatments are repeated around 6 to 12 weeks, depending on the vein, red theread veins and larger green veins up to 3 mm can be treated.
Treatment really is almost pain free, but after a couple of hours the vein may ache, so taking a paracetomol should help to dull this.

Before Treatment
- Do not use bath oil, lotions or creams 24 hours before
- It may be required to wear a support garment
After Treatment
- Take a 10 minute walk immediately after
- Wear support garment
- Avoid extreme temperatures for 14 days
- Avoid sun exposure for 4 weeks
- Avoid high impact excercise for 2 weeks
- Avoid leg waxing for 4 weeks
- Elavate legs as much as possible for 2 weeks
